Samsung Fire Mobility Museum: A Family-Friendly Stop Near Everland

Last weekend I took my little one to the Samsung Fire Mobility Museum, and I came away ready to recommend it to anyone planning a weekend out in Yongin. If you’ve ever wondered where to go after Everland, this is the answer that keeps coming up — and for good reason. It’s less than a five-minute drive from Everland, so you can easily pair the two on the same day.

What is the Samsung Fire Mobility Museum?
It’s an automobile museum in Yongin and one of Korea’s leading car-culture spaces. What makes it special is that it isn’t just rows of parked cars — it walks you through the history and culture of the automobile all the way to the future of mobility, in a hands-on, experience-driven space. For families with a car-obsessed kid, it’s hard to beat as a weekend outing. It does get fairly busy on weekends, so if you can, go on a weekday.

What’s changed after the renovation
I’d visited two years ago, then went back after hearing it had been renovated — and the short version is, it’s much better than before. The first thing I noticed was the sheer variety of hands-on programs. Where my last visit felt mostly like walking past displays, this time there were so many activity zones that it felt far more dynamic, and my little one had a blast trying everything. The outdoor grounds are spacious too — on a nice day you’ll want to spread out a mat and relax. Families were resting on the benches, and there was plenty of room for kids to run around. It’s a perfect spring or autumn outing. When Everland gets crowded and the queues wear you out, having somewhere this relaxed nearby is honestly such a relief.

The hands-on programs
This was my favorite part of the visit — there’s far more on offer than I expected.
- Driving simulators — arcade-style driving-game rigs. My car-loving kid was thrilled, and it’s genuinely immersive if you’re into cars. Kids and adults alike were lining up for it.
- 4D theater — motion seats paired with video. I’ll be honest: this one felt a little less worth it compared to the others. Still, the seats move around, so my little one enjoyed it.

- RC car driving — sneakily fun! You steer an RC car around a track, and the adults were the ones reliving their childhood. My kid was still a bit too young, so dad took the wheel together — but if you’re visiting with children, don’t walk past this one.
- Classic car ride — for me this is the headline experience: you get to ride in an actual classic car. Any car lover will adore it. Getting up close to vehicles you’d rarely encounter — and actually riding in them — was genuinely special. If you’re hunting for things to do near Everland, this one alone makes the visit worth it.

How much do the experiences cost?
One of the biggest surprises was the price. Most of the programs ran just 1,000–2,000 won per person. There’s a separate admission fee, but booking through Naver gets you a small discount, and Everland annual-pass holders get a discount too. The 4D theater felt a touch overpriced to me, but everything else was more than worth it.

What cars are on display?
The exhibits are a highlight in their own right — everything from Korean and international classic cars to racing cars and concept cars. It’s laid out so you can take in the history of the automobile at a glance, so even people who aren’t especially into cars will find it interesting. For a car-loving kid like mine, it’s basically heaven. There were so many unusual vehicles that we lost track of time going car to car. If you’re looking for places to visit in southern Gyeonggi, it’s worth a stop whether or not you’re a car person.
